Where on the web can i find free info and videos of how to record and mix your own music at home?

there are a couple of sites i have found and i have watched a few videos on youtube. but i know there must be some other sites out there? i really want to learn how to pan equalize instruments to get a professional sound? i have a zoom mrs1608 multitrack recorder and a boss br-864 multitrack recorder and the effects on both them are quite good, but i mix everything down and burn a cd to play in a stereo it just doesn't sound that good? any help would be appreciated! thanks! :o)
