What breed of dog is the best? c'mon' owners!?

I love staffordshire bull terriers, sometimes completely infuriating (my puppy nips my feet and at my clothes) but if he hears a noise in the garden he will shoot straight to my side and stand over my feet protectively, he'll curl up in my lap and nuzzle into my dressing gown and they're very playful and not afraid to stand up for himself :) Plus, I think it always looks like they are smiling!
